we have some breaking news in dal city. a car with two people inside goes over a cliff and falls several hundred feet and we're learning that one person now has some serious injuries. >> cbs 5 reporter cate caugiran is on the scene right now at highway 35 and olympic way where there are multiple road closures and we can see crews behind you. >> reporter: one person was taken know a local hospital. chp says they could be suffering moderate to major injuries. the other person suffered some minor injuries and refused treatment and actually i believe is still here on scene. but as for those road closures, we're told that one lane on southbound john daly is completely shut down. chp says it's expected to be closed for the next couple of hours. as you can see, there's video from earlier. fire trucks and chp on scene trying to look at the car that went over the cliff. we heard reports that around 4:30, the car drove over here in this area. now they have called in a tow truck and about 350 feet of cable to try to get that car out.

starting next month the city of clayton won't have a fire station at all that. means the nearest station will be 3.5 miles away in concord. last night's vote came after voters failed to pass measure q, a $75 a year parcel tax. if it passed it would have prevented that's closures. the closures will save the fire protection district $3 m the district faces a $17 million deficit. it says it spent its reserves. for neighbors in clayton, the savings don't outweigh the costs it will mean for the city. >> it's hitting us at a tender spot with us because of what we have been through and we in it. others will unfortunately have to go through it. >> kelly's home was destroyed in a fire in clayton a year and a half ago. she says her son narrowly escaped death because firefighters were minutes away. she is worried the next fire in the town could be worse. the district says they understand the concerns of neighbors and they are going to work to redistribute their resources so response times won't be affected. cate caugiran, cbs 5. >>> a man and woman found bound and gagged.

into the peninsula area, foster city. 101 good, as well. bay bridge not the case. they turned the metering lights on early at about 6:00 this morning. you can see traffic really backed up to 880. slight delays northbound 880 into oakland. we have an accident to report first reported westbound 580 at high street. looks like though it's on surface streets. it's a vehicle and pedestrian involved in this accident. it's the high street exit or on- ramp as you get on westbound 580. there is a traffic light there. so you might see some lanes blocked around that area. chp has been called to the scene. that's a car versus a pedestrian at that intersection. we have also dealt with bart delays this morning about 10- to 15-minute delays pittsburg- bay point line in both directions. it's been that way for a half hour maybe 45 minutes at this point. everything else though for bart is on time. ace, muni, caltrain, ferries, the rest of mass transit no delays. westbound 580 at grant line slow through the altamont pass looking at about at least a 24 to 25-mi
